WIGAN PLAY PART IN ARSENAL HISTORY

Wigan Athletic, to anyone outside of Wigan this club has little meaning or historical context; although it kind of has for The Arsenal. Being as how we hosted them in our last game at Highbury. Their fans clad in their very own shirts to commemorate the occasion played their part that day as did their team.
Since then Wigan have done alright against us at their own ground winning last time round and drawing with us before that so today's quest for three points is no formality.
They are languishing in the drop zone and we are working our way upwards so it should be a good game. Martinez is pretty much committed to an open style of play and we are in the groove so expect to see some interesting highlights tonight at 11.26 minutes of MOTD, just after goal of the month.

With The midweek Champions League game an opportunity to rest some players hopefully we will see an energetic and effective performance today. Then it's Everton at home on a day of Historical significance for the Gunners and much fun in and around the ground. Let's hope that Everton play their part as Wigan did on 7th  May 2006.
