problem solving

Arsenal did not improve from last season, the stats clearly show that, Arsenal did not win a trophy ( this post is written with a 6 point gap between us and Chelsea* )as Wenger said at the AGM last year therefore this season was not a good one. Many others will break down, analyse, scrutinize, pontificate, debate, cogitate and generally unravel the season. I will keep my summary concise. WHERE IT WENT WRONG 2009/10 Failure to buy a top goalkeeper (ie;Given, Friedel, Sorenson + another ten or so) Failure to buy a couple of proven ready made players (AW: 'Buying Alonso is killing Diaby & Denilson) Failure of a number of players that Wenger 'believes in' not performing(but given substantial contracts) Injuries(yes it's true we have been incredibly unlucky) Balance of squad (letting players go and not replacing with equal quality) Wenger stubbornly persisting with flawed policies WHERE IT CAN GO RIGHT 2010/11 Buy a top goalkeeper Buy a couple of proven ready made players...

Sp*rs scratch the ten year itch

So this is Harry's Secret And lo it came to pass after a decade the first victory this Century! And there was much fun and frivolity up and down the White Hart Lane, and the Commemorative DVD was being pressed all through the night. Oh. What a night of wonder. Some Cab drivers and residents of Kent had not seen such unbridled joy as this, the night they had won their very own cup final! Surely now a place in Europe was assured and they dreamed the dream that Harry may lead them to the Promised Land a place they had never been before; all the way to The E.C.L! Amen (or should that be Oi Vey?)

Bitterness rising

Daniel Wynne on the left in light blue Daniel Wynne Chairman of Tottenham supporters Trust was featured on ESPN’s Football rivalries. A reasonably entertaining programme about the Arsenal Sp*rs Rivalry, its roots and history (currently on Sky Anytime). This bloke is something of a stand up comedian and perfectly sums up the bitterness of the Sp*rs fan. When I heard his comments I really fully understood the overwhelming obsessional hatred towards the glorious Gunners. The talking heads from the Arsenal camp spoke about achievements and records, where as Mr Wynne spoke of South London, Sp*rs doing the double before Arsenal, and generally suggesting that Arsenal wanted to emulate Sp*rs in all things. He also gives irrational and irrelevant opinions that bear no correlation with reality. The sheer unbridled bitterness and bile that this fellow spews forth encapsulates the feelings of misplaced insecurity that Sp*rs fans have. I'm not suggesting Arsenal fans are saints; there are ...

Is Nike to blame

Looking at an injury ravaged season for Arsenal is it coincidence that Nike boots are worn by the majority of those injured for sustained periods? Nike are worn by Fabregas Arshavin Wallcott Eduardo Gallas Rosicky Song Denilsen Almunia Diaby And at the other top clubs Nike are worn by Joe Cole Essien Rooney Ferdinand Torres Coincidence? or something more sinister? Or could it be modern boots in general? 'Football is a team sport which involves kicking a ball with the foot in order to reach the goal and Football boots are what the players wear while playing football. In such games wearing the right footwear is very important. Although initially they were boots, modern football boots do not cover beyond the ankle' ...actually it's coincidence, it's just a slow news day

Early retirement

Emmanuel Adebayor retires from international football • Manchester City striker makes 'difficult decision' Emanuel Adebayor today announced that he is retiring from International Football. He began preparations for this retirement during the 2008/2009 season at The Emirates by wandering aimlessly around the pitch at a leisurely pace.

abandon ship

Reasons why Sp*rs were knocked out by Portsmouth: It was the pitch It was the referee It was the cloud formation It was David James’ Pink Shirt It was the Kick off time It was the fourth official It was the players on loan to Pompey It was Sol Campbell’s fault It was the colour of the ball It was that Pompey fan with the bell It was the pressure of Wednesday’s game But it had nothing to do with Redknapp’s team selection or the fact that Portsmouth defended better or that Sp*rs have a team of flash Harrys and unexceptional mediocre non entities, or that their wonderful fans left the ground before the end like rats from a sinking ship. Another season of broken dreams for Sp*rs as their fourth place status seems to have evaporated. Oh well never mind; a draw on Wednesday is now the only highlight available to them. It will be like VE day and The Royal wedding the length and breadth of the Seven Sisters if they pull off a draw. A win and we may very well see the first ever example of multi...
